Everton Football Club Insight

Sportswise were engaged by Everton Football Club on a wide ranging customer insight brief. The main aims of the research were to inform on supporter attitude towards a wide range of business issues to help create strategies for supporter growth and retention. Areas of research included:

- ticketing price for home matches

- engagement and involvement with the club

- customer experience and satisfaction

- marketing messages and core brand strengths of the club

- communications and best methods of contact

- supporter attitude towards product and facilities

The extensive research was branded the ‘True Blue’ survey and comprised qualitative and quantitative research to deliver the insight needed by the Club. Sportswise were commissioned to administer 4 focus groups and to manage a major online study where the view of more than 3,000 Everton supporters were collected – including season ticket holders, lapsed season ticket holders, casual supporters and non-attenders.

The results of the research were used to determine pricing strategy for the current 2009 / 10 Premier League season and have resulted in quicker and larger season ticket sales than the previous season.
